What is an editorial license in EyeEm

The editorial license applies to photos that will be used strictly for non-commercial purposes, or for newsworthy events that are of general interest to the public, e.g. magazines & newspapers, blogs, newsworthy & general interest events.

What are releases in EyeEm

Releases are permissions. They help photos sell with a commercial license. Each identifiable person or property needs a release. If your photo features a recognizable subject or private property - like homes, logos, design elements or artwork - you need permission from a person and/or property owner to make the photo available for commercial use on Market. If you don't get releases, photos can still be sold with an editorial license. Add releases by clicking a photo.

How much will I earn

You have the chance to profit from each photo added to Market, each time it sells. As clients can only buy licenses to your photos, never the exclusive rights, a popular photo can sell hundreds of times. All revenue will be spilt 50/50 between you and EyeEm.

What is EyeEm Market

EyeEm Market allows you to offer photos from your profile for sale. Photos you upload to EyeEm attract a lot of interest from global brands, agencies, magazines and other creative industries. Market lets you earn money for doing what you already do best: taking real, authentic photography. Photos are made available through licensing. This means: buyers can use your photos and you keep the copyright and ownership of what you decide to sell. You’re always in control

Our partners are distributing images throughout their global network. The price for an image license depends on the platform through which it is sold - different pricing models might apply which are administered by partners.
The final price for a license depends on the selected size of the image as well as any volume or subscription discounts the image buyer might benefit from.
We will always split the net revenue we receive from partners 50/50 with you.
